A
event
held at KIT FORM
on Thursday 30th January. The event starts at 20:00.
The fifth instalment of an event series focussing on creating a space for people who use performance and movement in their artistic practice.
We are inviting a different selection of visual artists each month to explore new or old work in an intimate space and engage afterwards in constructive feedback on each other’s craft.
Practitioners of all skill levels and experience are invited to KIT FORM to join us and duly stew.
In this edition we will be hosting performances from Andrew Niel Hayes, Finn Darrell, Buoys Buoys Buoys and Titus Barker.
Andrew Niel Hayes left school fresh faced and eager to study foundation Art & Design at Central Saint Martin’s, but didn’t enjoy it. ‘Stuff that, I’ll move to Bristol and do a degree in Zoology. Spent most of my time there pretending I wasn’t a student, instead getting to know the local music and art scenes. Started playing saxophone professionally and putting on installations in the City’s abandoned spaces. Some more years went by and I decided to go back to art school, enrolling on an MA in Fine Art at UWE (best three years of formal education I ever got). Also began learning traditional Chinese Martial Arts (Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Kickboxing) and training a lot. Since then my work’s been shown in galleries as far a field as South Korea, Mexico and USA. I’ve performed across the UK and Europe with my jazz-not-jazz project Run Logan Run.’
Finn Darrell is a multidisciplinary artist, expressing the mysticism and absurdity of life through film, visual art and performance.
Titus Barker uses books, drawing and sound together to create an improvised and exploratory moment.
