Join us on Sunday 24th November at KIT FORM for two workshops led by artists Buoys Buoys Buoys & Ben Hartley.
Both workshops will run concurrently as drop-in sessions, between 2-4pm.
Paper Costume for Queer Pilgrims with Buoys Buoys Buoys. In this workshop we will examine the costumes and clothes that help us in our personal pilgrimages - whether geographical or spiritual, day-to-day or once in a lifetime, our journeys are shaped by what we choose to adorn our bodies with. We’ll use drawing exercises and playful papercraft to build sacred accessories, reflecting the complexity of queerness, cultural memory, and the ways in which clothing both defines and transcends the body.
Fertility Dolls with Ben Hartley. A making working exploring the tradition of ancient wooden fertility idols of ambiguous or fluid gender discovered in peat bogs. Participants will be able to make their own fertility dolls using scrap materials while talking and learning about this ancient tradition. Materials will be provided, by participants are welcome to bring their own sentimental objects to incorporate into the dolls.
