"Sell out warning! A true living, breathing legend of roots and dancehall, Mr Rub a Dub himself, the Ice Cream Lover, returns to Bristol after igniting the mic at THAT unforgettable Teachings session last year. Toting his endlessly-sampled repertoire of silver-tongued anthems, this will be essential enrichment for even the most casual of reggae observers. "

Johnny Osbourne is undoubtedly one of the most popular Jamaican reggae and dancehall singer of all time.
Rising to success in the late 1970s and mid-1980s, his album Truths And Rights was a huge roots reggae hit, featuring timeless tracks 'Jah Promise' and the titular 'Truths and Rights'.
He also enjoyed big hits with covers of U.S. soul tunes like "Ready Or Not" and Earth Wind and Fire's "Reasons". Thanks to his nickname of 'Dancehall Godfather', Osbourne is the most in-demand vocalist for dubplates, best known for his mid-1980s dancehall reggae hits 'Buddy Bye' (based on King Jammy's Sleng Teng riddim), 'Ice Cream Love' and 'Water Pumping'.
