Raz, owner of Fossil Studios, is an award-winning, chart-topping, mutli-platinum producer. His repertoire includes a broad range of solo electronic music productions while also lending his refined ear to composing and producing for other artists including Basement Jaxx, Lamar, Sam Lee and many more.
Afla’s background as a dancer and session musician for artists such as Ginger Baker, Sun Ra, Oren Marshall, Osibisa, Ibibio Sound Machine, and Tony Allen embodies his lineage.
The balance between Raz’s production style and Afla’s Afrocentric flavours ignited dance floors and earned the duo a glowing reputation from the very beginning. Their debut album, ‘The Cycle’, came out late 2022 and has gained critical acclaim from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Lauren Lavern, Jamz Supernova and was play listed on BBC Radio 6,1Xtra, FIP, Radio Nova as well as obtaining fans from their peers and remixing the likes of Glass Animals, Batida and Crate Classics
Following their debut The Cycle, and its subsequent remix project, their sophomore LP, Echoes Of Resistance, finds the duo remaining committed to exploring new sonic territories and creating music that speaks to the universal language of rhythm and melody. Beyond their studio recordings, Raz & Afla are celebrated for their exhilarating live performances, playing shows in major festivals in France, Netherlands, Germany, Cyprus and the UK.
