Altered State: Beneath the skin – an intimate look at our bodies at The Hen & Chicken

A event held at The Hen & Chicken on Thursday 30th October. The event starts at 19:30.

We will be taking a fresh look at how bodies are seen in medicine. From the influence of tradition and male bias to the blind spots of race and gender. Have female sexual organs had the attention they deserve? We’ll explore how priorities in surgery are arrived at and what we can do to compensate.

Altered State host Eliz Mizon will be joined by:

Gabriel Weston - surgeon, author and mother of 4

Gene Feder - Professor of Primary Care at University of Bristol

7.30pm
Thursday 30th October

Hen & Chicken, 210 North Street, Southville, BS3 1JF

The event will be followed by a book signing with Gabriel
