Lights, Cameras, Furniture, Fashion! Ever seen a mannequin slowly come to life in a shop window? The talented Bristol Ballroom Community brings to life locally-sourced, designed and vintage clothing – such a strong part of the character and history of the Croft. There will be live-mannequin modelling of products from the wealth of independent shops on the street. Look out for voguing categories we all know and love.

As all dance genres are born from resistance, and with Stokes Croft at the heart of Bristol's resistance to power and conformity, what better way to celebrate the street, and the independence of its businesses? Ballroom itself came out as a means of resistance, a social movement and creative collective for queer people of colour; a space where people can express themselves freely and challenge traditional gender roles.

During our performances, the whole window of Happytat and Second Combing will become a catwalk and stage. We invite you to gather outside and watch as the fun unfolds!

This is a family friendly performance and children are welcome. Please book a ticket for each person in attendance - this includes children and babies in pushchairs.

This event is wheelchair accessible. It is a standing-only event and there will be no seated capacity unless otherwise arranged. We aim to ensure that this event is accessible to all, but in order to do this we ask individuals to please contact us in advance to discuss specific access needs, so we can work with you to try and meet these ([email protected]).

This is an outdoor event. In the event of bad weather the show will go on! Wrap up warm and bring a brolly.
