Returning to their hometown of Bristol with their first single of 2025, South-West based Alt-Rockers Pollyanna Blue present 'Love Sick'. An ironic Valentines Day release, 'Love Sick' twists the very definition of the charming phrase, by exploring the notion that it might not turn out to be the idealistic type of yearning you once imagined…
Musically, Pollyanna Blue have brought a little bit of something from each members music taste, Zoe bringing the melody and influence of 2000s emo and pop rock of bands such as Fall Out Boy, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Rich bringing the heavy and alternative sonic of Garbage, Thornhill, Wolf Alice and Neil brining the high energy sounds from Vukovi, Gojira and Yonaka. The three have created a modern punchy alt-rock wall of sound that sounds familiar in many ways, yet something that can only be defined to them.
After lockdown and the music scene returning to normal, the band released ‘Haunted’ which got airplay on Alyx Holcombe's Introducing Rock Show on BBC Radio 1. They’ve also received high praise from Nels Hylton on his BBC Radio 1 show ‘Future Alternative’, as well as countless plays on BBC Introducing, Bristol, Devon & Cornwall and Hereford & Worcester. Since, the band played the BBC Introducing stage at Lake Fest and in 2024, were shortlisted to play YNot Festival, and have supported the likes of Sick Joy, Oakman, and Jealous Nostril (Johnny Borrell from Razorlight).
