How do we discuss death in modern British society?
What stories do we share about our ancestors?
How do we process the loss of our loved ones?
How do we support those who are bereaved?
Has our approach always been this way?
This autumn, Heritage Stories invites you to contemplate these questions at a warm and participatory event at the Easton Community Centre on the evening of 20th November 7pm-9pm.
Hosted by poet, musician and educator William Barkley, prepare to be inspired by our featured guests:
Mica Sinclair, a captivating storyteller, will enchant us with a folk tale that sparks imagination and joy. She’ll lead gentle activities to help us settle into the evening, fostering deeper connections.
Dr. Laura Harrison, UWE Associate Professor in Modern History, will share her insights into family and community history, along with her personal journey in family research.
But that's not all! This is a space for everyone to share. We invite you to recount your own stories, whether about ancient ancestors or recently departed loved ones. If you want to just listen, this is fine too. Together, let’s honour and celebrate the people that lived before us.
Join us for an evening of remembrance, connection, and community!
Entry requirements: no age restrictions (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult over 21yrs, 1:1 ratio)
