The Easton Cowboys and Cowgirls, in conjunction with The Plough Inn, will be hosting a night in celebration and support of Easton Community Centre.
We have put together an eclectic line up of live acts and DJs across a range of genres reflective of Easton’s rich and diverse musical heritage and history, including artists whose own back stories have
involved the Community Centre in one way or another along the way.
Easton Community Centre has been a jewel at the heart of Easton’s community for nearly 30 years. This event gives the local community (and beyond) the opportunity to celebrate their ongoing
contribution to life in Easton, say thank you for the work that has been done over the last three decades, and help to secure their future with financial support by buying a ticket, coming to the
party, buying drinks at the bar and spending the night dancing and helping to create what we hope will be a memorable night!
The government’s ongoing policy of austerity has had a huge impact on local council budgets, meaning they are no longer able to provide the funding and support to the Community Centre, and community centres across Bristol, that they were previously able to rely on. This presents obvious challenges, but it also offers the possibility of new opportunities. It is now up to the local community to help support and maintain what is a vital hub at the heart of Easton. We hope this event signals the start of a community-led drive to keep Easton Community Centre thriving and continuing to provide a vital service to the people of Easton.
Tickets are a mere £5 and will be available to purchase from the Community Centre itself or The Plough across the road, as well as online at https://www.ethertickets.com/ and at www.bristolticketshop.co.uk. Every penny that comes in from ticket sales, and all bar money will go directly to the Community Centre. Everyone involved in putting the event on, from the artists to the bar staff and cloakroom attendants are volunteering their time in support of the cause. If you can’t make it to the event but would like to contribute anyway, there will be donation points in both the Community Centre and The Plough.
So get involved, and here’s to what will be a great night!
