on Saturday 19th April. The event starts at 19:00.
A new work for one person at a time by Bristol based live artist and film maker Andrew Neil Hayes.
Utilising both live and prerecorded video projection, together with the body, these one-to-one performances will provide an intimate space to explore the divide between outer and inner worlds. Increasingly, we act out our lives online. Could it be wise to assume that the internet has now taken the place of our body, as a container for the self?
“Everything in an individual’s life depends on how he represents things to himself - in other words, how he tells them to his inner dialogue.”
(Hadot, P. The Inner Citadel: The Meditations of Marcus Aurelius. 2001)
Following on from ‘You’ve Got Five Minutes’ (Kosar Contemporary, Bristol, 2019) and ‘That’s a horse of a different colour…’ (Kosar Contemporary, Bristol, 2020), this is the latest in a series of works for singular audiences.
Participants may sign up for a fifteen minute time slot (booking essential) and will be sent instructions regarding what to expect and how to attend the event, which will take place at D Unit Gallery in South Bristol.
Please be advised the performance contains the use of strong sensory stimuli (sound & light) and themes of an adult nature including death.
