Sober Queers New Year New You Drag Workshop at Cloak
See event details

A event held at Cloak on Saturday 20th January. The event starts at 13:00.

As some anonymous, redacted source once said, "We're all born naked and the rest is drag", so come join BooHoo Mann and give it a go. New Year, New You and all that.

With a focus on drag characterisation, and a little bit of performance, this workshop will be a on open space to start exploring the world of drag and how it can make you (and your audience) feel.

Although BooHoo is a lipsync artist, this is open to all forms of drag expression and will include the opportunity to test material for the upcoming open mic night at CLOAK the following evening in a supportive environment.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a makeup workshop. Drag isn't about the look, no matter what the algorithms say. There will be a quick makeup exercise and limited materials will be provided, but please bring your own foundation and brushes if possible.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE: There is no room for racism / sexism / ableism / classism / any other ism including thinly veiled misogyny via gender performance. Not that you would. Of course.

Tickets:
You can purchase a ticket for this workshop on its own for £12 or buy a combo ticket for £15 which will include entrance to the open mic on the 21st Jan.
If cost is a barrier for you attending either event, please send us an email at [email protected] or send us a message on Instagram @soberandqueer.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions
