A event held at Circomedia on Saturday 22nd June. The event starts at 18:00.

Join us on Windrush Day for an evening of storytelling exploring the impact of the Windrush Generation on the Bristol music scene – from the Carnival vibes of Soca to the beats that have influenced Dubstep and Drum & Bass.

Inspired by the concept of Human Libraries and our previously popular Library events, our guest speakers will become ‘human books’, representing a key part of Bristol's musical heritage. These musical legends will share their knowledge and experience of being part of groundbreaking music scenes in the South West & beyond.

Our speakers include...
**DJ STYLE**
Over the last 32 years DJ Style has been an instrumental part of establishing the Hip-Hop and R’n’B scene in Bristol, rising from the underground into a permanent fixture in many night clubs.

**DJ DAZEE**
DJ, Producer, Label Owner, Broadcaster and Original Jungle Pioneer, Dazee brings her wealth of experience plus a big charge of energy to the dancefloor.

**BIG D (JAH LOKKO)**
Jah Lokko have been in the sound system business for over 30 years. You might recognise their speaker boxes from St Pauls Carnival as the alias they also play as (Unique Star) have had a spot at the top of Campbell St every year since the 90's.

**PINCH**
The artist known as Pinch is a pioneer of dubstep, the sound that sparked one of the biggest waves of musical creativity ever seen in the UK.

**LADY V**
Lady V is Bristol's first lady of soca, a Bristol treasure from the days of FTP through to Passion FM. She's seen them come, she's seen them go, but her passion for music still burns brightly.

Delicious Jamaican food will also be provided by Jamaican Hideaway.

Learn, talk and listen with the community with this special opportunity to highlight Windrush and revisit the impact Black Britain has had on our music scene and beyond.
