Bop Thru for a cheeky pint and stay to hear some of the finest local DJs given free reign to flex their multi-genre, no boundaries, rave centred muscles. A new 5er entry night that aims to shine a light on underground Bristol talent. A back-to-basics knees up where the music is serious but the vibes are as warm as the bass bins. Expect to hear bare breaks, bops, bootlegs, bangers and bass, washed down with good booze and new buddies.
The lineup:
FFINN (Varispeed, Mothers Against Noise, SLUG WIFE)
From features on SWU.FM to gracing the decks at shows and festivals across Asia and the UK alongside acts like Monuman, Samurai Breaks, Ben Pest and Itoa, FFINN has proven themselves to be a discerning selector with a firm belief that groove knows no boundaries. Their dynamically eclectic sets provide a wide array of sonic landscapes and a tendency to become unapologetically volatile. You can always trust a true fan of the dance floor to keep you moving and guessing.
The multi-faceted co-founder of now-defunct record label SLUG WIFE is also a Lettering Artivist that goes by the moniker FYONAFINN.
IRONSIDE (P.R.A.N.K, Bashout, Dissident)
A true stalwart of the Bristol rave scene, Ironside has been worrying bass bins and rattling chests for 25+ years with true genre hopping madness. Equally at home in drafty warehouses, festival mega stages or hopping on the aux cable at a random after party, Ironside is the very definition of eclecticism, bouncing between styles and bpms with the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Expect Dancehall, Slow/Fast, Bass Abuse, Junglism, DnB, Multicore and everything in between.
LADYFINGAZ and KIMBR
Your hosts for the evening will be laying the foundations with an ‘anything goes’ approach to the first few hours. Bassy, bouncy, broken beats to get things moving while you get into the groove.
