See event details

A event held at Centrespace Gallery on Sunday 8th December. The event starts at 11:00.

7-11 December, Centrespace Gallery BS11EA
11am-7pm daily

Monkey Business is about celebrating queerness across all species and expanding my own understanding of who I am in the world.

During my research I learnt about lesbian lizards, non-monogamous songbirds, sex-changing clownfish, and promiscuous monkeys – there is SO MUCH queer behaviour that is being uncovered.

At the same time, I want to challenge this idea of “finding” our place in the world by looking at nature. Animals don’t exist to teach us how to live – our morality is not a monkey’s business, but ours to figure out.

Monkey Business serves as a space for reflection about the nature of sexuality and how we understand it – both in animals and in ourselves. After all, humans are animals too.
