Meemo Comma at Cafe Kino
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Meemo Comma’s cybernetic ambient breakbeat paired with live 303-drenched melodic techno from prolific local producer Tudor Acid. Fans of Seefeel, Aphex Twin + golden era Planet Mu / Warp / Rephlex squelches; your new favourite artist might be on this lineup. "

Electro Cafe is thrilled to bring Meemo Comma to Bristol to celebrate the release of their new album, Decimation of I.

Meemo Comma is an electronic music producer and also a conceptual artist - one of the leading lights in the "conceptronica" movement. Following albums exploring the early rave scene and Kabbala, they return with a new album which explores the role of human ego in the climate disaster. The first two singles from this album, "The Poet" and "As It Is Written" feel like the planet answering back plaintively. It's such an important piece of work because its beauty provides a starting point for us to reflect on the impact our sense of self has on the world around us.

Tudor Acid recently released the album "Discarded Shadows" and provides a support set. Featured on bandcamp daily and on the An Taoobh Tuathail -RTE (Eire) show. The 1994 ambient techno scene in Sheffield very much provided an inspiration for Tudor Acid and provides much of the vocabulary for this album. Tudor Acid's last show with Noah Radley and Joe Muggs (DJ) successfully incorporated live keyboard playing for a much more organic sound bed which really feels like a conversation with the audience.

Edit: - the flyer was changed with upgraded art on Sunday 15th September 2024.
