on Wednesday 12th September. The event starts at 20:00.
TR Clemmett: Terry Clemmett (vocals, guitar) Randall Phillips (drums,
harmonium, vocals) and Adam Newton (double bass, vocals). So far they have played a series of shows across the UK, including The NEC in Birmingham and BBC Radio 4's More Than Words Festival, shared stages with Cerys Matthews, Shola Ama and Sarah Jane Morris and recently independently released their first EP'Bombay Baba'.
TR Clemmett represents a stubbornly unique part of Bristol's diverse music scene neither conforming to the typical molds of softly-spoken acoustic singer-songwriter, nor that of indie flavor of the month or generic gypsy swing festival dance band. TR Clemmett is more likely to be found sharing the bill with outsiders poets, performance artists, choirs, Russian folk
trios.
A natural raconteur, TR Clemmett sings honest songs that tell stories about a tainted life lived out on the underbelly of society. A mesmerizing blend of acoustic urban street and gypsy folk draw you deep into the comic tragic world of'Lady in Blue' and'Luceil', waltzing you back in time to a London full of vibrant dishonesty.
'*Each song, lyrically and musically devastatingly descriptive, grips with
power of true storyteller's inescapable grasp, part spoken, part chanted,
illuminated by sparse but highly illustrative instrumentation' *Mudkiss
