A
event
held at Bristol Old Vic
on Tomorrow. The event starts at 10:00.
GATHER UP invites different Bristol-based practitioners to lead morning classes to support the continuous training and development of experienced movers and professional dance artists. Morning Class takes place weekly on a Monday morning in term time.
Time:
Studio is open from 9.40am, class time is 10-11.30am, with time to stretch and meet 11.30-12noon.
Ania will share their practice of Flying Low and Passing Through techniques, which have been developed by David Zambrano. These techniques offer people a different approach to go in and out of the floor in spiral, as well as across the space and through people in curved pathways. You can expect to move through different paces, sometimes quite energetically, and to learn some set routines as well as improvised material. We will be looking for clarity, grounding, playfulness and interconnectivity in movement!
Bio: Ania Varez (they/them) is a Venezuelan dance artist, facilitator and performer based in Bristol. They graduated with honours from the London Contemporary Dance School. Ania makes experimental and collaborative performances, working with other artists of other disciplines and often with communities who have never been in creative spaces before. Their own work has toured internationally (Taiwan and South Korea) as well as in the UK. They are a member of Interval, an artist support network in Bristol.
