We welcome 'Yetii' to the Bristol Music Club for this very special gig featuring local sax hero Jake McMurchie.
Expect an immersive set of original compositions in addition to reworks of some of their favourite BEATLES tunes.

Jake McMurchie has been an influential member of the thriving South West jazz scene for nearly three decades. His band 'Get the Blessing' won Album of the Year in the 2008 BBC Jazz Awards, and he has played and recorded with artists including Portishead, Massive Attack, Super Furry Animals and Jim Moray. Jake is very popular with the regular Fringe Jazz audience, playing a leading role in Tony Orrell's Big Top and for his own superb quartet with Dave Newton.

"A very, very good tenor saxophonist - very original" - Jazz Line-up Radio 3

'Yetii' is a Bristol based acoustic jazz trio that over the last five years have established a strong following with sold out shows both in Bristol and across the country with successful appearances at festivals in London, Swindon and Swanage. The group creates a sound world of complex yet consonant harmony supporting simple, singable melodies. Solos morph into intense group improvisations that focus on interlocking, minimalist fragments: a shared single voice that ebbs and flows between and within the band's original compositions.

"Fluent and wildly inventive improvisers" London Jazz News

"A performance that both enthralled and delighted the audience ★★★★★" - The Jazz Mann (live review)

Alex Veitch (piano) has a current bimonthly residency at Ronnie Scott's and plays in Bristol with projects including MADLY, Family Business and Bristol Street Music. Ashley John Long (bass) is an award-winning virtuoso double bassist and composer and current lecturer at Cardiff University. Alex Goodyear (drums) has been named "One of the fastest rising stars of Jazz in the UK" (Jazz Knights) with credits including John Law, Simon Spillett, Adrian Cox, Joe Webb, Denny Ilett, Alex Merritt, and Dave Newton. The band released their debut album in November 2022 to widespread critical acclaim.
