See event details

A event on Sunday 20th October. The event starts at 13:00.

Join us to celebrate the opening of two exhibitions. Firstly, 'Staring into the Abyss' by Hashem Shakeri (Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, 1-2.30pm), which documents daily life in Afghanistan following the Taliban’s return to power. The opening will include a tour led by festival curator Alejandro Acin.

After the tour please walk over to Georgian House Museum for a tour of 'The House is a Body' by Akosua Viktoria Adu-Sanyah, a newly commissioned body of work that responds to the histories of the house. The tour will begin at 3pm.

Venues:

- Bristol Museum & Art Gallery (1-2.30pm) - Queens Rd, Clifton, Bristol BS8 1RL
- The Georgian House Museum (3-4pm) - 7 Great George St, Bristol BS1 5RR

The two venues are a 5 minute walk apart. We encourage you to attend both openings.

Exhibition previews will take place across the opening week, offering a chance to socialise and celebrate the work on display. These events are always informal and all are welcome.
