Tickets: https://bristolbeacon.org/whats-on/fat-freddys-drop/ Widely regarded as one of the world’s finest live draws, Fat Freddy’s Drop has navigated sunshine reggae and soul psychedelia before swerving onto a desolate Detroit superhighway at night. This euphoric vibe demands to be heard live, a potent mixture of jazz virtuosity and diaphragm-wrecking digital sonics. Since forming in 1999, the seven-piece’s potent live energy has built a loyal audience of Fred Heads. In 2023 the band toured UK/EU, playing headline and summer festival shows at the likes of Apollo, London, L’Olympia in Paris, Waldbuhne Berlin and Galway International Arts Festival. This year marks the tenth anniversary of Freddy’s seminal album, Blackbird. The occasion was celebrated with the release of ‘Blackbird Returns’ an album of re-rubs and re-dubs from producer friends around the world, including Jazzanova, Marcus Worgull, Kid Fonque, Nightmares on Wax and Christoph El Truento & Lucky Lance.
