A event on Friday 28th April. The event starts at 19:30.

Price: £5 / £3
Time: 19:30 - 21:00

Join current Bristol City Poet Kat Lyons (2022-2024) and former Bristol City Poet Miles Chambers (2016-2018), together with writers and creatives from communities all around Bristol, for this special showcase celebrating our 2023 festival theme, City of Words.

The event will feature Angie Belcher (part of the Totterdown Rising commissions), poets from Bristol Stanza (who have created the Walking Words Bristol poetry app), Rowena Knight (part of the Queering the City LGBTQ+ commissions), as well as our first ever Bristol Young City Poets, Altoma Elwasila and Nara Pring.

Hear poems written about Bristol, spanning an incredible range of perspectives, styles and themes. Miles and Kat will share some of the poems they were commissioned to write as City Poet, and poets from around the city will share newly written work from recent outreach workshops and activities. Audience members are invited to explore the Lyra Poetry Exhibition in the Bristol Beacon Glass Room and to write their very own Bristol poems to stick on the public poetry wall.

Presented in partnership with Bristol Ideas and part of Bristol 650.
