A
event
on Thursday 21st November. The event starts at 18:00.
WORK IN PROGRESS is an exhibition charting local change - from women changing industry throughout history to the animalistic machinery on building sites changing the local landscape.
The show features sculptures and photography by Ellie Shipman and Jack Stiling in collaboration with Barton Hill History Group as part of Charting Change, a University of Bristol public art commission for the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus.
Join Jack Stiling to collectively activate his puppet-like mechanical digger sculpture Groundwork, 2024; help yourself to bread pudding from Ellie Shipman's edible sculpture Bread Pudding Queen, 2024; discover historical artefacts and talks on the women who shaped local industry by Barton Hill History Group. Explore a gallery of interactive pieces visualising snippets of industrial history and current change around the Temple Quarter site.
To chart the change of a rapidly developing area with a complex history is a challenge, but this exhibition is an invitation to join the conversation, reflect on change, connect with community and play as we go.
