A clubnight held at Basement 45 on Saturday 12th August. The event starts at 22:00.


As part of 4 Bristol’s daytime celebration for the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop, the festivity will continue into the evening with the official After Party, in association with Code of the Streets & 4 Pillars.  The line up assembled for this night, have been carefully selected for their contributions towards the music scene over the decades in the city.
Expected to hear some favourite classics, as we reminisce in the golden era  of music.  Featuring:

DJ LYNX - One of Bristol's formidable Hip Hop DJ's from the mid 80's playing venues throughout Bristol, touring with 3PM & working with producers Smith n Mighty. Also being amongst the original DJ's to be on early Pirate Bristol Station B.A.D Radio, and eventually cementing a regular spot on Galaxy Radio with the 3PM Experience Show.

BOCA 45 - Is known as somewhat of a Bristol institution from his early days in the mid 90s selling Hip Hop & Funk from behind the counter of the seminal Purple Penguin record shop then rapidly becoming one of Europes most in demand DJs for a quick fire mix. Banksy personally requested Boca to DJ the opening party at Dismal Land in 2015,  he's also earned a mighty rep for his mega collaborative projects alongside the likes Andy Smith as Dynamo Productions. 

DJ BUNJY - With years of DJ’ing experience behind him, DJ Bunjy is one of Bristol most sought after DJ’s, playing  over Europe & America, forming Bristol’s popular band Laid Blak, appearing on Channel 4,hosting after parties for Public enemy, Damien Marley, John Legend, Missy Elliot.

DJ STYLE - Has been an instrumental part of Bristol Hip-Hop R’n’B scene for the last three decades, hosting radio shows on numerous pirate stations, currently BBC radio presenter. Setting up club nights such as Flava Of The Month & Code of the Streets, support DJ for Stretch Armstrong, Dawn Penn, Omar, Tribe Called Quest, Donell Jones, Arrested Development, Evelyn Champagne King.

JAMES 90 - Starting out as a breaker in the early 80, then DJ-ing since 1989, playing at a Womad age 15, becoming a scratch Dj in a local band Junkwaffel, to producing mixtapes as dopedope recordings. Regular guest on Party934 NYC independent radio station. Performing at St Paul’s & Notting Hill Carnival,. also producing tracks & remixes, working with the likes of Grandmaster Melle Mel, Grandmaster Caz, K-Solo, Canibus

DJ CRIDGE - A versatile DJ who’s been ever present from the late 80’s, rising to prominence during the acid/rave era. Cridge's skills would see him become part of the Up, Bustle & Out which released a number of albums and singles on the Ninja Tune’s label. Honing on his production skills, he would put releases on Tribe label, experimenting with Hip Hop sounds & breaks.

MC KELZ - Starting as a toaster & watching performance by Billy Boyo at Trinity Hall, was the catalyst for  Kelz to pursue a career in music releasing tracks such as I am The Poet through Smith n Mighty, 3PM would eventually be formed alongside Lynx & Krissy Kriss. They cemented their place in Bristol's legacy with classics such as St P, Better Late Than Never, Clash Of The Beats.  Still involved with music to this very work with another legend in Sir Beans OBE
