Sunday will host an Out There experience of immersive art performers that utilise sonic visual mediums to wrap you up in a breathtaking display.
CJC once again running the main stage, with a talented pool of Indie bands from the Bristol scene, all as eclectic as the next. No one can be sure what to expect, but it WILL be wholesome.
Rootless Society’s Jazz Lounges will have open doors, jams, and excellent bands blended into a juicy jazz extravaganza!!
Paper crowns - A welcome assault of heart racing feedback, trance inducing loops and primal unhinged grooves. Bringing a dynamic sound and lyrics that sway between angst and romantic poeticism, Paper Crowns take performance to a new level; and display their genre influences clearly, from jazz to post-punk. https://www.instagram.com/papercrownsmusic/
Llyr - Instrument: Izobel (homemade instrument)
Bristol based trans artist Llyr Adeline uses instruments of her own making to explore musicality outside of the binaries of convention weaving odd time signatures and polychromatic temperaments to explore queer identity and life as an other https://www.instagram.com/mx_llyr/
The Keeling Curve - The Keeling Curve is an electronic music duo comprising composer Will Frampton and violinist Rhiannon Bedford. They make ambient and experimental music exploring humankind’s relationship to nature and place using modular synthesizers, tape loops and found sound. They have been featured on broadcasts and compilations, performed live around England and Wales, collaborated with multi-media artists, and guest lectured in universities. Since formation in early 2020 they have released five E.Ps., been awarded grants from Sound and Music and Arts&Heritage, were shortlisted finalists for RMA’s inaugural Tippett Medal, and have undertaken a Britten Pears Creative Retreat. https://www.instagram.com/the_keeling_curve/
Rapala Moon - *Rapala Moon* is a dynamic jazz trio gathering from Bristol, Cambridge, and mid-Wiltshire, seamlessly blending classic jazz with Latin fusion, soul, and blues. RM’s members bring their share of diverse musical experience, having performed in a variety of previous projects. Their sound fuses generations of live performance, offering a fresh and vibrant take on jazz, driven by youthful energy and undeniable passion.
Glossolalia - Glossolalia is a Bristol-based band that melds spiritual jazz with UK hip-hop and introspective spoken word. Led by drummer Oscar Sharman, their music features intricate rhythms inspired by jungle breakbeats and modern jazz fusion, complemented by synchronous saxophone and lead guitar melodies. This combination results in a sound that is serene, atmospheric, and energetic. The band openly cites influences such as Alfa Mist, Matthew Halsall, and Athletic Progression. https://www.instagram.com/glossolalia.band/
Anoir - Anoir’s project explores cultural dislocation: his melancholic longing for desert and sand, a yearning for something lost and distant. The music conjures a unique atmosphere, blending together bass chords, percussion and melodies with a jazzy and dreamy soundscape. https://www.instagram.com/_anoir_/
We have the outstanding Lysergic once again illuminating the space, and a continuation of Gopal Clark’s visual explorations of live footage on artists. https://www.instagram.com/lysergic.productions/
