On National Poetry Day 2022, Raise the Bar proudly presents the former World Poetry Slam Champion and internet sensation HARRY BAKER, performing his new full-length show UNASHAMED. + A great support lineup in the first half including LEYLA JOSEPHINE.

World Poetry Slam Champion Harry Baker's heart and humour has been watched by millions online and allowed him to perform all over the world, until suddenly he couldn't. From reviewing toilet seats online to writing falafel-based diss tracks for Chris Evans, he's back on stage where he belongs with his most heartfelt, playful, unashamedly Harry Baker-y show yet.

"Incredibly life-affirming...This is fringe at its best" - WhatsOnStage

"Inventive, accessible...very funny" - Three Weeks

"Immaculate word-smith and genuinely nice guy" - Broadway Baby

LEYLA JOSEPHINE

Leyla Josephine is a poet, theatre practitioner and filmmaker, originally from Glasgow, now residing in Prestwick. She first started writing poetry in 2013 and won the Hammer and Tongue UK National Slam which catapulted her into the world of Spoken Word.

Her solo theatre shows Hopeless and Daddy Drag have toured throughout the UK. Hopeless was runner up for Saboteur’s Best Spoken Word Show 2018. Daddy Drag received the Autopsy Award 2019 which celebrates Scottish artists making ground-breaking work in Scotland.

Her poem ‘Good with our hands’ was included in the Scottish Poetry Library’s Best Poems of 2020.

Leyla's first collection of poetry In Public/In Private out in November 2022, published by Burning Eye Books. In this collection Leyla questions her urge to share her inner life publicly. Leyla writes about secrets, faith, lust, and death without shame. She fearlessly reaches through every page and asks ‘Have you felt this too?'
