GROTTO at Alma Tavern and Theatre
£13.00

A event on Wednesday 20th November. The event starts at 20:00.

Unseasonable, unreasonable & unsuitable for brats.

A legendary figure has signed into the GROTTO for out-of-season rehab. Is he the real thing, or another otherwise unemployed actor between Santa gigs? This is fierce character-led stand-up by critically acclaimed writer and performer Terry Victor – a jolly, white-bearded, fat man who has danced in the dark side of the GROTTO.

So, Santa is in rehab – a Christmas casualty of uncertain sexuality, losing the battle with his demons. His self-medicated side-effects include aggressive behaviour, sudden bursts of silliness and meltdown.

★★★★ “Grotto feels like the sort of show the Edinburgh Fringe was invented for…” STARBURST Magazine

A powerful, comic celebration of diversity, audiences should prepare themselves for ‘more burley than burlesque’ drag, Xmassy rapping and stockings full of super-salacious namedrops ’n’ Santa secrets, Not to mention satirical thrusts and… subtext. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas will never be the same again. Ho! Ho! Ho!

“Terry Victor is magnetic […] great performance, great writing, darkly funny, audience in palm of his hand.”

★★★★★ “...would highly recommend… The performance was dynamic and made us feel part of something exciting and special.” The Audience Club
