A Wood without the Town (or Bottom Between the Sheets) by E. Derbyshire after Shakespeare.
Much of this is a story you may know...
Nicholas Bottom has always dreamt of being a performer.
At Nick’s insistence, when just eleven years old, his father grudgingly bought Nicholas an old keyboard and suffered while he painstakingly learnt to play. Always in the background and considered ridiculous by his peers, Nick put his dreams of stardom on hold for many years…until now.
With more than generous help from a very famous playwright, and using several of said playwright’s most beloved characters, join Bottom on his journey from how it all began, to daydreams of the stage, and finally to his masterpiece, hidden for years in the bole of an oak tree in the forest, now brought out into the light.
Throughout, Bottom will play you his favourite pieces of live piano music, some of which he must admit to having written himself, then hidden from public view. Though, as we all know, the fairies at the bottom of the garden know all, and might just have the last say…
Entry requirements: 14+, any under 18s accompanied by 21+ adult 1:1 ratio
