Join Bristol Solidarity Cafe for an insightful evening exploring the political landscape of Mozambique, both past and present.
This event will feature speakers who will delve into the history of Mozambique’s struggles, from 470 years of colonial exploitation to decades of single-party rule. We’ll also explore the ongoing protests and the fight for justice in the country today.
After the presentation, there will be an open Q&A session where we can discuss ways to show solidarity with Mozambique from right here in Bristol. Our collective voice can help raise awareness and hold those in power to account on the global stage.
We’re excited to hear from Moyah; an Afro-fusion rapper, artistic activist, educator, and award-winning interfaith creative producer, born during the 15-year Mozambican civil war and forced to flee as a political refugee.
Zoe Gibbons (Bristol international twinning association) will talk about Bristol International Twinning Association and Bristol’s relationship with its twin city of Beira, Mozambique.
We will also be hearing from The Bristol Cable Communications Lead, Alex Riley
The venue will be selling food and drinks on a "pay as you can" basis, offering an opportunity to support the local community while engaging in conversation.
