A co-ordinated takeover and makeover of billboards across Bristol, by as wide a range of artists and activists as possible. For a short time in 2011 (date/s to be decided by participants) we'll free our public spaces from adverts, and replace them with something to remember! Some images will be properly pre-printed to billboard size, others can be done however you like - painted on, sculptured, whatever.
The event will be supported by a fundraising club night - to pay for printing the billboard-sized images abroad (where prices are cheaper). The night will be a collaboration of artists and performers, and not based on any one particular style or form. A chance to get together, create an artistic environment, enjoy ourselves, and raise money to make a real impact for the street event. At the moment we're thinking that artists who install work for the club night will be considered first for the pre-printed images
